Warts are one of the most common skin problems and almost everyone faces it in his or her lifetime. Warts can appear on any part of the body but most commonly found on the hands and feet.
They may grow singly or in groups and have a rough surface; sometimes a black spot is seen in the middle of them. The main cause of this skin issue is the human papillomavirus (HPV). This virus can be picked up from someone else or may spread through cuts or scratches to other parts of your body.
There are different kinds of warts but the most common ones are flat warts, plantar warts and common warts. Flat warts occur on the face while the common ones develop on the hands. Plantar warts are those which appear on the soles of your feet.
They can be a reason of embarrassment but no need to worry anymore. You can get rid of these warts by using everyday ingredients from your kitchen. In this article, I’m compiling a list of home remedies which you can use for removal of stubborn warts.
Let’s begin!
Garlic :
It is well known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties which help to fight viral infections. You can use garlic in a simple way. First, crush a garlic clove and put it on the affected area.
Then cover it with a bandage and leave it for about 20 minutes, after that wash the area in a proper manner. The acidic effect of garlic will cause the wart to blister and fall off. However, larger warts may take more time to heal. Try repeating this process two times a day for about a week.
Hot Water Soak :
Soaking warts in a mild hot water helps to soften them and heal in a quick way. Plus, the hot water soak helps to combat the virus and prevents infection.
Plain hot water is fine, but to make the treatment more effective, you can add some Epsom salt or white vinegar to it. For the best results, you can remove dead skin from the affected area with the help of a pumice stone. Make sure that water is not too hot to prevent the burning of the skin.
Banana Peel :
The enzymes of banana peel help to heal and rejuvenate your skin. The antimicrobial properties of it prevent infection. All you need to do is, rub a banana peel on the wart for a few minutes.
Or the other option is that you can place on the wart using an adhesive bandage. Try repeating this each day for the best result. This remedy may take time, so be patient!
Castor Oil :
The antiviral properties of it will help to kill the wart-causing virus. Apart from this, it is an anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants. You just have to rub the affected area with castor oil for a few minutes and leave it.
This remedy can take a few weeks to a month to give better results, but at the end you’ll be able to get rid of warts.
Baking Soda :
The antiseptic and strong anti-inflammatory properties of baking soda help to combat viruses which cause warts.
Prepare a thick paste by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with a tsp. of white vinegar. Dab this paste on your warts two times a day, once in the morning and once at night.
Aloe Vera :
Aloe vera is known for its anti-inflammatory properties which make it an effective remedy for treating warts. To make the use of it, take a fresh aloe vera leaf and extract its gel. Put this fresh gel on your wart with the help of a clean cotton ball. To hold the cotton ball use a tape or bandage. Try repeating this process two times a day for two weeks.
